The ability to create, innovate, and design a program from an idea excites me. In computer science, I found that I can achieve this.
It also gave me the ability to express my creativity, as I was never much of an artist growing up, in ways I ways I was unable to do so previously.
My journey began with my first computer, where gaming and the introduction to programming transformed my life.
It initially began with gaming but due to having an older brother it allowed me to be introduced to coding at a young age and it opened a new world of opportunities to me. If I felt a game had limitations, I was able to superseded them by learning how to alter the code of the game and creating my own additions.
At age 12 is when I began coding, I created a Minecraft GUI shop using Skript with over 75,000 characters, teaching me resilience and perseverance.
This language is most similar to psuedo code and python, however it allowed me to combine my enjoyment of gaming and coding into a passion.
In A-level Computer Science, I built an aim trainer in Python, applying computational and mathematical principles learned in class and my own free time.
Studying other subject such as maths and geography also gave me a lot more global knowledge of global software markets such as Taiwan, as well as further developed my problem solving ability.
Running my e-commerce business honed my time management, web development, and networking skills.
This also taught me how to run a profitable business using business scaling ideas and analysing my income and how to distribute it using for further development, using software such as Excel.
A competitive athlete in basketball and athletics, I developed teamwork, independence, and a strong work ethic.
I am currently captain of the 1st team of basketball at university which helped me further develop my teamworking and team leading skills.
Despite initial setbacks, I pursued a foundation year in Computer Science at Kingston University, gaining advanced preparation for university modules.
This taught me that through perseverce, hard work and a goal in mind I can get to my dream university of Royal Holloway which is where I am currently studying.
Attending university and being currently in my 2nd year has further developed my team working, time management and coding ability.
It also allowed me to further develop as a programmer and become more independent.
All of the above have allowed me to be able to focus on my own projects such as developing my own applications.
Currently working and developing my own ai "phaise it" empowered google extensions that helps users rephrase their work and make it sound more intellectual and academic.
